Job Description/Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for executing the Bank’s internal communication priorities
Drive penetration of Bank’s key internal messaging priorities
Assist with writing and editing internal and external publications including newsletters, email communication thought leadership articles etc.
Generate and pitch business and social stories for intranet and employee engagement activities
Copywriting for advertising, product flyers and product campaigns
Work with customer service on customer communication emails, text messages and other communication
Work closely with Media and Brand, Events & Sponsorship teams to PR strategies for various Bank initiatives.
Perform duties as assigned by line supervisor and HOD
Key Performance Indicator:
Brand Perception Index
Number or % of proactive media stories
Coherent, efficient and effective internal communication platform and delivery
Social media presence and customer participation on those platforms
Job Requirements:
B.A (Mass Communication, Journalism or related disciplines)
Excellent writing skills
Minimum 5 years experience designing and delivering strategic communications
Experience working with a communications consultancy is a plus, especially for blue-chip clients in the financial industry
Excellent proficiency with Word, PowerPoint
Key Competency Requirements:
Job Knowledge:
High level, current international and African media contacts and strong relationships across the media sector; experience of crisis communications; proven experience in opinion editorial crafting, speech writing and general copywriting
Capability to build and manage complex and sensitive stakeholder relationships
Confident media operator
Strategic thinker
Ability to produce support for key business initiatives, including writing articles, creating PowerPoint slides, producing videos and analyzing survey results
Skills/Competencies:
Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment
Ability to work and engage confidently with executive management and board of directors
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment
Strong consulting skills, robust project management skills, great analytical thinking and effective management and team working style
